Important clinical limits

Online care is not emergency care

A sudden worst-ever headache, weakness, speech or vision loss, collapse, confusion, fever with neck stiffness or headache after major injury needs urgent assessment.

Call 112 immediately for a life-threatening emergency, unconsciousness, a seizure, severe breathing difficulty, collapse or stroke symptoms.

Common questions

Before you book

Is a prescription guaranteed?

No. The doctor decides whether a prescription is clinically appropriate after reviewing the indication, history, evidence, risks and alternatives.

Can the appointment be completed online?

Many non-emergency assessments can be completed by telephone or secure video. The doctor will explain when examination, testing or local urgent care is safer.

How is a Spanish electronic prescription delivered?

When prescribing is appropriate, a REMPe prescription with a QR code is sent by email. Present it at a participating Spanish pharmacy with identification if requested.

Can Nerja Medical Center guarantee pharmacy stock?

No. Pharmacies control participation, stock and dispensing independently. Confirm the exact medicine and strength directly before making a special journey.

What if I need a physical examination or blood test?

The doctor can direct you to a suitable local service. Nerja Medical Center also provides physical examination and works with Eurofins for laboratory sampling when clinically indicated.

Can I use the service while visiting Spain?

Yes, residents and visitors can request assessment. Bring clear evidence of established treatment and relevant medical history; the same clinical and legal prescribing standards apply.

Is online care suitable for an emergency?

No. Call 112 for a life-threatening emergency, severe breathing difficulty, collapse, stroke symptoms, a seizure or unconsciousness.
